As my mail is my main priority, is there a way to configure Outlook in such a way that it will only download RSS feeds when I want to?RSS feeds can easily become a distraction indeed but luckily you can modify your Send/Receive settings to exclude some or all your RSS feeds from updating when Outlook checks for mails.I am running windows vista ultimate edition, everything is running smoothly when i add rss feeds on IE7 then it automatically synchronizes in MS Outlook. The problem is, after successfuly synchronizing it the first time i don't get updated? I have tried reinstalling, adding/deleting feeds to no avail. Step 6: In the Send/Receive Groups dialog box, please click the New button. Then a Send/Receive Group Name dialog box comes out, please enter a name for the new group in the box, and click the OK button.I believe this tradition in some form or other has been with us since the earliest days of newspapers.
Then go to Outlook, right click on the RSS Feeds folder and choose Add New a RSS Feed…
If you have a lot of RSS feeds you follow, you may not want them all updating automatically.
You can set up the RSS feeds so none of them update automatically, or only certain ones will.
The first part is to uncheck the publisher update recommendation, and the second part is to define a new send/receive group for the RSS Feeds that you will change their update intervals. Step 1: Open the Account Settings dialog box: Step 2: In the Account Settings dialog box, click the RSS Feeds tab and select the feed name that you will change its update interval, and then click the Change button.
Step 3: In the RSS Feed Options dialog box, please uncheck the option of Use the Publisher update recommendation. See the following screen shot: Step 4: Click OK and Close to exit two dialog boxes.
